Cat N. Bulaon joins the Giovanniello Law Group after spending 16 years specializing in complex litigation and multi-party suits including consumer and employment class actions, coordination and consolidation proceedings. She has been appointed as lead class counsel and helped successfully resolve dozens of state and federal class actions involving wage and hour claims and consumer credit and protection laws. Prior to private practice, Cat also worked with various nonprofit legal agencies throughout the State of California.
Cat obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside, and her law degree from Albany Law School, Union University in Albany, New York. Cat is admitted to practice in both California State Courts and Federal District Courts.
Some of Cat’s professional achievements include successfully litigating claims for and against unpaid wages and overtime, claims for failure to provide meal and rest periods, claims of exemption, claims for reimbursement, misclassifications of employees as independent contractors; successfully negotiating settlements and drafting mediation briefs and settlement documents; successfully drafting discovery and dispositive pleadings, including summary judgment motions and motions for class certification; counseling employers on establishing, developing and implementing effective employment policies and practices to minimize the risk of costly lawsuits; and counseling employers in all phases of employment practices liability, including claims for unpaid wages and overtime, meal and rest periods, misclassification, and reimbursement of work expenses.
Cat was born in Vietnam, and raised in Minnesota and California. She resides in Orange County with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, entertaining friends and family, cooking, wine tasting, traveling, gardening, and participating in fundraisers and community service projects.
