Mai X. Nguyen considers herself a native Californian, although she was born in a small town in Vietnam and moved to Huntington Beach, CA when she was four years old. She graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Studies.
Prior to law school, Mai gained work experience in real estate, public relations and non-profit organizations. She moved to New York in 2017 to attend Brooklyn Law School in an accelerated two-year program. During law school, Mai spent a summer clerking at the Federal Defender’s Office in Sacramento and provided free legal assistance throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan to recipients of welfare benefits. While in New York, Mai also interned at a music and entertainment law firm, served on a junior board for Project Renewal, a non-profit which provided a holistic approach to serving the needs of at-risk and homeless individuals, and volunteered as a development assistant at Asia Society organizing talks with global leaders.
In 2019, Mai joined the Giovanniello Law Group as a law clerk before becoming admitted to the State Bar of California in 2020. Mai is admitted to practice law in all of the courts of the State of California and the Central District of California.
Mai enjoys playing tennis, golfing, listening to true-crime podcasts, and volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for youths within the foster care system.
